One of this summer’s blockbuster movies, “Oppenheimer,” tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who helped develop the atomic bomb that the U.S. used against Japan in World War II and who later warned against the dangers of a nuclear arms race.

Kevin Hamilton, dean of FAA and an art professor of new media, is the co-author of “Lookout America!: The Secret Hollywood Studio at the Heart of the Cold War,” about the Lookout Mountain Laboratory film studio that documented nuclear testing for the U.S. Air Force.
