Engagement Units

FAA is home to Krannert Art Museum, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, and Japan House. All three units serve the university, and the general public in wide-reaching ways and host a variety of special events, performances, exhibits, and cultural spaces and experiences to enhance community engagement with the arts.

Krannert Art Museum

Krannert Art Museum (KAM) is the second largest general fine art museum in the state of Illinois and operates within the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The museum is a cultural destination and a virtual presence that strives to enrich the human experience by inviting visitors to make connections through the visual arts between the past and present, between what is understood and what is unknown.

Japan House

Japan House is a teaching establishment, made up of a Japanese tea rooms, class space, and surrounded by Japanese gardens. It serves as a place for students and cultural explorers to experience the immersive beauty of Japanese tea ceremony and other traditional arts. Japan House aims to make the beauty of traditional Japanese arts and culture accessible to everyone.
